Washing Your Car Using a Personal Pressure Washer

Author: Lance Winslow

Washing your car at home using a pressure washer is fun and simple. Pressure washers have a powerful spray and they blow the dirt right off the car. It is hard not to imagine yourself as "Rambo" while blasting the grime away. If you do not have a pressure washer yet, we recommend the Ex-Cell Pressure Washer, which is on sale at the Home Depot.

One of the most popular uses of Ex-Cell Pressure Washers is cleaning your car, although they can be used to clean just about anything. A great advantage to washing your car with a pressure washer is that it cleans better and it uses less water. This is wonderful if you live in a drought area and also good because less run off into the storm drains means you are not polluting the ground water.

There are a few items you will need to wash your car. You will need two large towels or one Chamois. You will also need a sponge or mitt, some car wash soap and a bucket. You will not need much car wash soap because it is concentrated, only about a cap full. Fill the bucket up with the hose, which goes to the pressure washer. Once filled put the hose back onto the pressure washer and turn it on.

Park your car in the desired area to wash, if you have a lawn you might be able to park on the lawn to water the grass at the same time and prevent soapy run off into the gutter.

Now you are ready to start, here is how you will do it to be the most efficient in your washing process. Put the widest angle spray tip in the end of the wand and start from front of the car and work to the back, thoroughly rinse the car make sure to remove excess mud and dirt. Soap the car using a mitt or sponge as needed and then rinse Car from top to doors spray towards the rear, then rinse from front to back removing all soapy water. Always dry the car starting from the top first and then dry the sunniest side next and the shady side last.

If you enjoy this type of work perhaps you want to start your own business cleaning and detailing cars for customers in your neighborhood? If not you will always have the cleanest car on your block and you will be able to maintain it spending less than a third of the time as any of your neighbors, because now you know the secret to cleaning your car with your personal pressure washer.
