Conservatives like me are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with President Bush and his administration. While many of us still believe in his original policies and war on terror, we feel that President Bush has strayed from his values and is distancing himself from many Americans.

I do feel that we are safer today then we were 5 years ago. I also believe in the war on terror and that we do have a strong economy in America,

So what do I feel is wrong with George W. Bush? I believe he has led his presidency by spending trillions of dollars and running up Americas debt. This goes against the values of most conservatives and Republicans. President Bush has also lost touch with Americans and doesnt seem willing to re-connect with them. Bush is also making deals with the wrong entities (Dubai port deal is an example) which calls his credibility into question.

Many conservatives will argue that hes better then Kerry would have been. So what? That was then and this is now. This is like saying that Scott Peterson isnt as evil as Ted Bundy because he didnt kill as many people. Kerry is old news. It is now up to our president to prove himself worthy of the position that the American people put him in.

Its not very hard to do a better job or be a better leader then John Kerry. Im frustrated because President Bush has strayed from his platform. Hes also unable to articulate the gains that have and continue to be made in Iraq and the war on terror.

I hate to say it but if Bill Clinton would have been in power during this presidency, he would have made our current state of affairs look amazing. Thats because Clinton knew how to relate to the average American and he could articulate his position and policies in a way that could be understood by most people. Clinton was that slick.

President Bush has a couple of years to turn around his presidency. The only way that he can do this is to put Americas interests first. He also needs to start connecting with Americans and their concerns, especially the fifty one percent who voted for him.

Unfortunately I think that its too late for Bush. The House of Representatives and Senate (Republican majorities) are starting to distance themselves from him and are openly challenging his policies. One of the major reasons for this behavior by Congress, is that mid-term elections will be held later this year. It wont help their campaigns if they align themselves with Bush.

President Bush will most certainly find himself isolated from the American public and Republicans. He will become a lame duck president and thats not good for America.
