How to Grow Your Business by Leveraging the Human Dimension in Your Company - Part Two

Author: Walter H Groth

While the first part of the story was setting straight the fundamentals of the Human Dimension, the second part is dedicated to translate this into practical action.

Lets have look at the Human Dimension in your company and what you can do to find the hidden diamonds and use them. It is a down to earth approach with concrete steps to follow coming from the realm of Personal Growth:

If you are the owner and/or CEO start to ask yourself these questions:

Do I know where I want to be with my business in 1 year from now?
Do I know where I want to be with my business in 3 years from now?
Do I know exactly where I am at today?
Do I have any idea how to get from my position as of today to my goals?
Do I have the right people on board to help me?
Do I communicate to all of my people what my vision is and do I do this in a way they understand?
Do I know what the needs of my people are?
Do I work on fulfilling their needs?
Do I have leaders in place?
Am I the right leader?
Do I know whats going on in my business on a daily basis?

Those are just a few questions you should carefully think about and honestly answer. The key is that you are absolutely truthful to yourself and the people you lead.

In many companies if not in most there something in place which I call a Success Cancellation System! You might know something about the noise cancellation systems and how they work. The Success Cancellation System works the same way: Once somebody in your company starts with an action, somebody else is taking a counterproductive action thus canceling success. And it happens every minute during the day. Do you know, if this is the case in your company?

How do you lead your company? Are you the one knowing it best what to do? Are you one of these control freaks? Do you mistrust people because they might make mistakes? You might argue that your experience showed you exactly this and hey, you are right! You are right, totally rightand five years from now you are still rightand at the same place! But you are right!

Do you walk around in your company? Do you know your employees personally? Do you know their worries? Do you know what makes them happy? Do you know what they have to say to contribute to the companys success? Are you listening?

Are you aware of the politics in your company? Do you know the rumors? Do have an idea why there are rumors? Do you know the destructive force of politicsthe success killer number one? Do you know how to avoid it?

How does the working environment look like? Put yourself in your employees shoes and ask yourself, whether you would like and enjoy to work under these circumstances. This does not mean that you spend a heck of money for furniture or so. But it does mean that you care about them, since a lot can be done even with almost no money!

Do you know what kind of special knowledge and know-how each of your employees might have and how it could impact your success by making a huge difference?

Are you willing and ready to educate yourself about all these topics and more? Are you willing and ready to spend the time and money to get the advice you need from a personal coach? Did you ever wonder why the most successful people, the wealthiest people and the most influential and impressive people have coach? They have it because the coach let them reach for the stars and leverage their true potential!

The difference between an entrepreneur and a business owner is the warrior spirit the first on has, taking action now and doing whatever it takes to be successful!

Look at your business as the opportunity for you to contribute to society and see the growth of your business as part of the foundation of the nation.

Act now and commit yourself to success!
